While enjoying some down time at Kerr Lake on August 7th, Sartin tested his outfit while putting Brett Meager of Creedmoor on her personal best blue catfish, a beast that stretched their scales to 88 pounds.

A teenage boy was found dead in Kerr Lake on Monday less than a day after he was reported missing. Keyon Philippe, 16, of Warrenton was reported missing just after 6 p.m. Sunday after vanishing near Satterwhite Point, officials say.

North Carolina Restores 50% cut in Senior Discounts at Parks

Kerr Lake Park Watch has been notified by the NC Division of State Parks that the 50% cut for discounts to senior citizens who camp at Kerr Lake has been rescinded and the full discount of $6 per night for seniors 62 years of age and older has been restored. In addition, that discount now applies throughout the entire park system for the State of North Carolina.

Water management officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District have received final approval for a change to flood operations at John H. Kerr Dam and Reservoir. Under previous flood operations, stepped-up releases from Kerr were determined based on how high lake levels were in Kerr Reservoir.
