Vance County Animal Services strongly urges residents in the area of Reverend Henderson Road to be sure their pets are up to date on the rabies vaccination after it was reported Thursday that a skunk in the area tested positive for the deadly virus. Vance County Animal Services Manager Frankie Nobles said the positive rabies case occurred at a campground on the 1400 block of Reverend Henderson Road. A skunk was chasing a family’s dogs around the campground before the dogs eventually killed the skunk.
