Warren County (N.C.) Commissioner Tare Davis recently informed a group of Lake Gaston residents, based on correspondence with the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), he is expecting a proposed 10 million gallon per day Interbasin Water Transfer request by the Kerr Lake Regional Water System to go through in September.

Lake Gaston resident MikePucci, who was recently made president of the Roanoke River Basin Association, told the group the Association is not fighting this proposed IBT any longer, but they have been made aware of a 50 million gallon per day request from the City of Raleigh they are strictly opposed to.
