Corps Says Water Allocation Already Made

The US Army Corps of Engineers has clarified its position to Kerr Lake Park Watch on water withdrawal from Kerr Lake by KLRWS, saying that the allocation including the 10 million gallons of water per day, was approved years ago.

The 2015 Walmart Bass Fishing League season will continue with six tournaments on Saturday, April 25. The Cowboy division will take on the Red River; the Hoosier division opens at Lake Monroe; the Mississippi division heads to Pickwick Lake, the Mountain division competes on Dale Hollow Lake; the Savannah River division will tackle Lake Hartwell and the Shenandoah division stops at Kerr Lake.

The arctic blast that swallowed up much of North Carolina may have frozen crappie in their tracks, but rest assured the clock is ticking on a big move to shallower water before the spawn. Guide Chris Bullock of Fountain is already finding fish staging in the backs of major creeks on Kerr Lake, and he’s ready to start spider-rigging as soon as warmer weather returns.

Many Boat Ramps on Kerr Lake Closed Due to Low Water

The drought conditions in the Roanoke River basin have resulted in very low water levels in Kerr Lake and as a result many of the boat ramps are closed. As of December 6, 2012, the lake level was just under 293 feet and expected to drop over the next few days. That's almost seven feet below the lake level at "full pool."

The winter size limit for striped bass will be reduced from 26 to 24 inches. The 2 fish/day creel limit will remain unchanged. The summer creel limit will also remain unchanged.
