Recent rain from Hurricane Matthew brought Kerr up to 307.5 ft (7.5 ft into the flood pool). Inflows into Kerr are averaging 35,000 cfs from the storm over the last 7 days (peak hourly inflow close to 90,000 cfs) . So we have inflows into Kerr that would support the maximum flood release of 35,000 cfs allowed under our revised flood operations (QRR).

The FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) is headed to Kerr Lake Oct. 6-8 for the second of six BFL regional championships. The three-day tournament, which is presented by Evinrude, will feature the top 50 boaters and 50 co-anglers from each of the Northeast, Savannah River, Shenandoah and Volunteer divisions.

Water management officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District have received final approval for a change to flood operations at John H. Kerr Dam and Reservoir. Under previous flood operations, stepped-up releases from Kerr were determined based on how high lake levels were in Kerr Reservoir.

The Piedmont Bass Classic qualifier on May 14th has been moved because of the high water at the Flemingtown Ramp. Tournament Director Phil McCarson says there is still water in the parking lot. So, the tournament is being moved to the "New Nutbush" ramp.
