Largemouth bass may be caught in 3-4 feet of water on Speed Shads and Poe's RC3 crankbaits. A stop-and-go retrieve is working best. Crappie are hovering around deep brushpiles. Vertical jigging minnows over the brushpiles will produce the better fish. Striper fishing is slow.

In Kerr Lake stripers are hitting trolled crankbaits and bucktails in the vicinity of Bluestone Creek and Clarksville, while the mouths of Rudds and Grassy Creeks are producing stripers on live shad, swim baits and four inch Sassy Shads.

Largemouth bass anglers are catching fish on topwaters and deep suspending jerkbaits, fished adjacent to the brush, early and late in the day, and jig 'n pig and Carolina rigged plastic grubs during daylight hours.

Lots of large crappie are being taken from the bridge pilings and submerged brushpiles on live minnows and tiny jigs. Lots of bass are being caught, particularly in Bluestone and Grassy Creeks.

Bass fishing in Kerr Lake is good throughout the lake, with the bass holding in pockets, coves, and bluff banks. Rat-L-Traps, ripped through the pockets and coves, are producing 2-5 pound largemouths.
